The primary use of the Lifestick is to indicate the location of people trapped in a room because of smoke or fire. Designed for use in any high rise;

However, the Lifestick can be used in any emergency situation to alert police, ambulance, security, management or neighbors of a resident in need of assistance.
Fire Department 
In an emergency response situation, the Lifestick provides the Fire Department with an efficient Primary Search and reduces search time when indicating trapped or immobile victims.
When hung on the outside of the closed door on the door knob, after the initial search, the Lifestick provides an indication to rescue personnel during the Secondary Search that the suite has been secured.
The Lifestick is extremely effective during power outages, low light or smoke filled situations. It is superior to the use of chalk to mark doors due to the Lifestick’s visibility and permanency.
Emergency Response
Police and Ambulance personnel responding to 911 calls can quickly identify the location of victims when the Lifestick is used. Training of the Lifestick program to fire department personnel can be done through internal training within the fire service. The Lifestick is extremely simple.
Fire Safety
The Lifestick program increases the awareness level in Fire Prevention and Fire Safety among those who utilize it. The visual impact of the luminescent Lifestick hanging by the door is a constant reminder of it's purpose. Due to it's placement beside the door, the Lifestick also helps to locate an exit door at night or during a power outage.

A survey of tenants who participated in a pilot study claimed they felt safer and encountered less anxiety and mental stress during a fire alarm or fire drill situation.
Additionally, tenants became better educated about fire safety because of the Lifestick Program. The Lifestick can be used in any emergency situation such as an illness, injury, distress or whenever there is a need for help.
The Lifestick can be used to signal anyone from emergency personnel to friends, neighbors or coworkers in supporting an emergency situation where someone needs help.
